TAJ MAHAL
Soon afterwards, the sight of bullock carts carrying huge barrels or ‘Hog’s heads’ containing beer became a household sight. These carts wheeled their way to customers, including British troops living in and around Madras, Bangalore and the Nilgiris. Almost immediately, the brew from UB became a favourite, especially with the British troops. So began the history of beer in India, and the history of United Breweries!
TAJ MAHAL PERMIUM LAGER
If you’re a serious beer connoisseur, you’re simply missing out if you haven’t experienced Taj Mahal. This beer’s label depicts its namesake, the gorgeous building built by the Shah Jahan in the 1630s and ’40s. This building’s name literally translates to “the best of buildings.” Jahan was dedicating the building to his wife — not his only wife, you see, but his favorite one. Sadly she didn’t get to enjoy its bounties, as she died just a year after it started construction.
